Topslip "The pollution free
heavenly land" Topslip is located above the
800 feet from the sea level on the Anamalai mountain
range. It stands majestically with Green Spread
Mountains and forest all around. The unique teak forests, Bamboo Forest also located
near Topslip.
Topslip and Valparai (Valparai
to Topslip 65 Km) are small Places with in the
(958 km2) Indira Gandhi National Park and Wildlife
Sanctuary lies in the Coimbatore District of Tamil
Nadu. at the southern part of the Nilgiri Biosphere
Reserve in the Anamalai Hills. Separated from
the Nilgiri Hills by the Palghat Gap on the north,
the Park is contiguous to the Parambikulam Wildlife
Sanctuary (Kerala) to its west and to the Eravikulam
National Park (Kerala) and Chinnar Wild life santuary.
Reaching Topslip from
Pollachi and then by road to Top Slip
(35 km), the entry point to the Park. There are
regular buses from Pollachi at 6 am and 3 pm.
The bus returns to Pollachi at 8 am and 6 pm.
Hired cars/taxis are also available at Pollachi.

Reaching Topslip from
Valparai and then by road to Top Slip
(65 km), Valparai to Topslip
is itself an exotic experience. En route is the
Indira Gandhi Wild Life Sanctuary where lion-tailed
macaque, the Nilgiri and the common langur, Malabar
giant squirrel, elephant, gaur, spotted deer,
sambar, barking deer and wild boar reside. you
can also visit the Monkey Falls, Aliyar Dam, Park,
and several tourist spots. (Via Aliyar and Sethumadai)
Nearest airport: Coimbatore (75 kms)
Nearest Railway Station : Pollachi (30 kms). From
Pollachi, there are trains to Coimbatore and Dindigul.
Entry formalities:
If you are visiting the park for the day you can
go directly to Top Slip (Entry INR 50). The Sethumadai
checkpost is the entry point to Topslip In case
you plan to stay at Top Slip,
accommodation must be booked in advance at the:
Wildlife Warden Office, 178 Meenkarai
Rd, in Pollachi. Open Monday to Friday between
9 am to 5 pm. Tel: 04259 238360. Park
entry time is between 6.30 am and 6 pm.
Park details and tips:
Private vehicles can drive in
the park. Top Slip is best enjoyed if a car is
hand at all times. It is possible to walk around
the park. You must have a Park Guide with you
and you are allowed to walk in the park for a
maximum of four hours for INR 70 per person. There
is provision for a conducted bus ride from the
Park Reception Office and riding elephants may
also be available. Local food and refreshments
are available at the facility run at the Tourist
Complex, Top slip. Accommodation in the Park is
very basic and it is best to carry sleeping bags
and emergency supplies. A booking at a particular
guesthouse may not assure you of accommodation
at it. The final allocation decision is left to
the Department staff at Top Slip.

Parambikulam wildlife Sanctuary
Tucked away in the valley between
the Anamalai ranges of Tamil Nadu and the Nelliampathy
ranges of Kerala on the majestic Western Ghats
is the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary.This virgin
valley that is the pride of Palakkad district
is a glorious tribute to untouched nature.The
reservoir harbours several varieties of aquatic
fauna including mugger crocodiles that are often
seen sunning on its banks.
Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary
is the most protected ecological piece of Anamalai
sub unit of Western Ghats, surrounded on all sides
by protected areas and sanctuaries of Kerala and
Tamil Nadu, the sanctuary is endowed with a peninsular
flora and fauna which are excellently conserved
due to total protection and minimal human interferences.
The sanctuary being a major ecological continuum
from Peechhi to Eravikulam through Anamalai aids
the large viable populations of wildlife. It is
the home ground for different races of indigenous
people who are as well an integral part of the
prevailing harmonious ecosystem. The thick, opulent
habitat of the sanctuary with ample water supplys
make it an abode for wildlife and there by for
tourist who can have treasured memories of animal
sightings and that of being in the lap of mother
nature
Western Ghats is one of the world’s
34 bio diversity hotspots. While considering the
abundance of Wildlife and the adorable beauty
of Nature, Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is
perhaps the most attractive piece of wilderness
in the entire stretch of Western Ghats. Thus it
is popularly revered as ‘Nature’s
own abode’. It has a total area of 285 Sq.
Kms.

If you are visiting the park for the day you can
go from Top Slip to Parambikulam (Entry fees).
There is Kerala forest checkpost is the entry
